SpeakerJeongyong Kim

Prof. Jeongyong Kim got his BSc. at Korea University in 1993 and Ph.D in physics at University of Cincinnati (US) in 1998. After working as a post-doc in University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (US) and as a senior researcher at ETRI in Korea, he joined the faculty of physics in Incheon National Universityin 2002. In 2013, he moved to Department of Energy Science and IBS research center (CINAP) at Sungkyunkwan University. Current research interest of his isoptical characteristics of two-dimensional semiconductors and their heterostructures. Particularly he uses nanoscale optical imaging techniques like near-field scanning microscopy to visualize the real-space spatial profiles of exciton complexes and their interactions with other energy quanta on transition metal dichalcogenide(TMD) monolayers. He so farpublished ~120 peer-reviewed papers in the areas of nano optics and materials science. abstract
