Wu Zhou is a Professor in School of Physical Sciencesand leads the electron microscopy laboratory at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) in Beijing, China. Prior to joining UCAS, he was a Staff Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), USA. Wu received his B.S. degree in 2006 from Tsinghua University (Beijing, China) and his Ph.D. in 2010 from Lehigh University (USA), both in Materials Science and Engineering. Wu’s research is focused on understanding the behavior of functional materials at the atomic scale using cutting edge electron microscopy techniques and theoretical modeling, with focuses on 2D materials, battery materials, and catalysts. He has received several prestigious honors and awards, including the first Albert Crewe award from the Microscopy Society of America in 2012 and the Eugene Wigner Fellowship from ORNL. abstract
